NYFORS develops sophisticated and innovative products used for fiber pre- and post processing in high strength and specialty splicing operations. During our thirty years in business we have accumulated technical knowledge covering most aspects of these fields, with expertise in optical fiber stripping, recoating and cleaving as well as production system automation.Besides developing and producing standard products, NYFORS also undertakes custom engineering projects. The newly introduced optical fiber recoater platform from NYFORS can cure and efficiently process low index recoating compounds with high quality results. Silicone moulds are available for common double-clad coating diameters.
Submarine cabling and telecom recoating
Undersea optical fiber cable manufacturing places high demands on recoating quality and long term reliability. NYFORS recoaters restores the protective coating to a diameter that closely matches the original fiber outer diameter in a process free of micro bubbles.

NYFORS provides tools for end-face inspection of cleaved or polished fibers. Precise cleave angle measurements and 3D reconstruction of the end-face with customizable software that allows for the definition of fail/pass criteria and analysis of specific cleave features.
